Background:
Corpus Christi was built in the 1960s, when it relocated from an old Victorian school. The modern, single-form entry school houses a nursery, five classrooms, a library and a hall. It is set back from the main road, surrounded by large open spaces offering a football pitch, five-a-side pitch and two playgrounds. It also offers a wide range of sports and after-school activities, participating in many local competitions and often doing very well, despite being a small school. It offers after-school, breakfast and holiday clubs, and maintains good links with local primary schools and the high school. It is well supported by the parent's association, the Friends of Corpus Christi association and the Parish Ladies Guild. Each year pupils raise funds for CAFOD, Good Shepherd and the Archdiocese building fund. The school aims to provide the highest standard of education within a Christian environment.
