Background:

Cowley College is a larger than average comprehensive school with an average-size sixth form. The college has excellent state of the art facilities comprising extensive science and information communication technology accommodation, specialist areas in business studies, design and technology, English, humanities and modern languages, a well resourced library, a lecture theatre, arts theatre and music suite, sports hall, new gymnasium and art and design area. It is situated in an attractive setting with a mixture of old and new buildings. All students in Year7-9 study English, mathematics, science, technology, information and communication technology, history, geography and religious education, a modern foreign language, art, music, physical education, personal and social education and citizenship. The college aims to provide a range of activities that are related to health, leisure and sport leading to a healthy and active lifestyle after leaving college. The college has achieved the awards : Sportsmark Gold, Artsmark; Investors in People status; DfES achievement award. The college has links with primary schools.
