The school was built in 1908 and originally housed separate infant, junior, senior boys and senior girls schools. In the senior children moved to other premises and in 1971 the junior and infant children were brought together as a single school with one headteacher. The school curriculum includes English, mathematics, science, information and communication technology, design technology, history, geography, physical education, music, art, religious education, personal, social and health education. The school has after-school activities included: watersports, football, art, choir, cycling proficiency, science, tag rugby and athletics. The school aims to develop a school that is welcoming, secure and friendly.
