Background:
A voluntary-aided Catholic school; new building replaced previous school; it was built as a 'School for the Future', incorporating many sustainable, ecological features and excellent technological facilities. The school, completed in September 2004, consists of seven class bases with resource facilities and winter garden space, computer suite, library, special needs and meeting rooms and a large hall. Externally, the school has two playgrounds and generous playing fields. The school is situated on the fringe of an attractive residential area adjacent to the pinewoods and The Formby National Trust Nature Reserve. The school offers a wide range of extra-curricular activities including football, netball, athletics, judo, chess, French, Spanish, guitar, recorder and violin. During the year several excursions are also organised for the children. The school'seeks to pass on to the children an awareness and appreciation of Gospel values within a friendly, loving and welcoming environment.
