The original St. Bridgets School dates back to 1825 and was attached to the west end of the north side of the church, near the tower. The school has 14 classrooms, all the infant classes and all but two of the junior classes are accommodated within the main building. The remaining two junior classes are housed in the old school building, which is now part of the church centre. The school has now have two classes per year group and children are normally grouped according to their age. Recently the Friends of St Bridget's have raised funds to give an Infant and Junior Library and also to improve both playgrounds and surrounding areas.
